Technical CommunicationBellevue College’s Technical Communication courses are hands-on, interactive, and above all, directly transferable to the workplace. Classes are taught by professional writers, and small class size allows for personalized attention for each student. Classes may be taken individually, or as part of a Technical Communication certificate program.

Technical Communication Certificate Program

Bellevue College offers three Technical Communication certificates:

  • Technical Writing & Communication
  • Technical & Professional Editing
  • Information Design
The program is designed for those who want to enter this rapidly growing field, or technical professionals who want to improve their writing skills. Participants may also design a customized certificate program in a specialized track, such as Science Writer or Programmer/Writer, through the program advisor.

Each certificate requires 110 hours of coursework. The programs are designed to accommodate the varying time schedules of individual students. You can start any quarter you like, and complete at our own pace. Most students complete their certificate in two to three quarters. The college offers one-on-one program advising, as well as career counseling.
